I came into farming after starting my career in civil engineering and construction management. I felt the need to give back to the Earth and my community and was drawn to farming. Nothing fills up my cup like spending a day with my hands in the dirt out in the sunshine. An obsessive researcher, I am a self-taught farmer that is always looking for ways to improve and become more efficient. When I'm not out in the field you can most likely find me napping with my pups.
Nestled in the Cerbat Mountains on just over 2 acres Rosebird Gardens is a certified naturally grown farm growing over 20 varieties of produce any given season. Our veggie and flower beds only take up about 1/3 of an acre. Growing on a third of an acre might seem minuscule but its amazing what can be done with a little bit of planning and a whole lot of grit. We use high density planting with a focus on soil health in order to get the most out of the land we have. This land is our home and we treat it as such, respecting it and caring for it day in and day out.
Beyond our market garden we are striving to implement permaculture principles that will allow us to be as self-sufficient as possible. We are doing this through water management, silvopasture for our animals, windbreaks and creating our own amendments on site.
